Haha, I was just thinking "f**k that's niche, trying to find an M1 tranny and put it in a 335i. And why?!"

different internals, shorter gearing, quicker shifts. Just an idea, plus upgraded clutch and what not can take all that boost from a jb4 maybe in the future. Might put a new tranny in down the road was just wondering if its possible, 335i 6 mt tranny equals crap lol. Just cause its a 1m doesnt mean the 335i is a 3 series model the tranny is better than a 1m, you guys are acting like am putting a Camry transmission in it or something lol LMAO!!!

335i 6MT
1st--4.06
2nd--2.4
3rd--1.58
4th--1.19
5th--1
6th--.87

1M
1st: 4.110:1
2nd: 2.315:1
3rd: 1.542:1
4th: 1.179:1
5th: 1.000:1
6th: 0.846:1

doesn't seem huge but every little bit helps, I doubt its "stronger". Depending on year you might be able to use the clutch. 1Ms have a 6bolt flywheel, so you need a late 09 up model I believe or you have an 8bolt.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I just like adding information, I doubt OP will ever do swap.

Hmmm. I am confused, I still don't know if you are talking about an E26 M1 or an E82 1 Series M.

I think it's obvious he is not talking about an M1.

It is NOT the same motor after all......

The difference may just be the rear end gearing?

FWIW, the 335is 6MT shares it's ratios with the M3. If you're looking for shorter gearbox gearing. Not that boost necessitates that, but it is nice with closer gears for staying on boil while having the longer FD for the turbo.

It's a manual transmission.
I would venture to say a cheaper route and better would be to get a Wavetrac or Quaife differential to change your final drive gearing.
The added benefit would be limited slip.
