Help- professional head unit with bluetooth

Help- I have bluetooth in my 2006 e91. The mulf unit in the boot has packed up so I bought a later professional head unit with bluetooth built in. I have fitted it and everything works fine except the phone microphone. When on the phone through Bluetooth, they can't hear me. What do I need to do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
