325i e93 my07 vs my08?

I'm looking at a BMW 325i e93 with a manufacture date of Aug 2007, but the vendor (which is a BMW reseller) assures me that it is a MY08, although these should have been manufactured from September.
Looking in Redbook there is a lot of difference in the valuation between a MY07 and MY08, but could anyone tell me what changed?
Is there anyway to check what the Model year is myself?

Many thanks, Matt
