Help with Part number for water pump??
It looks like Parts Geek website has the cheapest water pump for a 2006 325i BMW. I am planning on getting the Pierburg Water Pump Part number W0133-1835163 it is $352 that will work right? Or should I get the OEM BMW brand water pump which is a few dollars more. I am changing my T-Stat which I already have and water pump due to my vehicle overheating. Thank you

I went with the OEM. I figured that would be the better bet. I have only put maybe 7K miles on the pump so I can't really say much for reliability quite yet.

I got my BMW water pump from BMW Parts Pros for $357 (plus shipping, and since I live in Cali where they are located, sales tax).
If Pierburg is the OEM, then there shouldn't be any difference in quality, but make sure you get the latest version as there appears to be 3 revisions of the pump. Buying a BMW part based on part number (RealOEM should give you the most current part number) should guarantee you that, but if you are buying aftermarket, albeit OEM, not sure how to verify you are getting the latest version. Hence, since its literally only a few dollars more, it seems buying a BMW part is the better course. Regardless, you must also get brand new aluminum bolts for the pump, which are different for each pump revision. And I'm sure you are replacing the thermostat and thermostat-to-water pump hose while you are at it because if you don't and it fails, you have to remove the water pump again to remove the thermostat. If you decide to go aftermarket, I was told Wahler and Behr/Mahle are OEM so you won't go wrong if you elect for thermostats from them. I replaced both several weeks ago and provided a couple tips that may help you. Don't break the power steering expansion hose rubber isolation mount like I did because it is not sold separately by BMW.
