Stuttering sound upon unlocking car

My F30 has developed a stuttering sound that sounds like it's coming from the engine bay whenever I unlock my car. At first it was only the first time I unlocked my car during the day (usually cold mornings). Now it's all the time. Anyone else experience this problem?

Happened when I closed the hood after putting more windshield washer fluid in as well. Not sure if it has to do with the locking system itself or some sort of check the car does every time it is locked/unlocked?

Yeah I think I have the same sound on my F31 - kind of like a clunk. Sounds to me like it is under the car somewhere. I suspect it has to do with the security system somehow.

Told the dealership and they cant replicate it...go figure. They replaced an electronics module that was under recall, maybe that somehow fixed the issue.

Update: The dealership fixed the recalled control unit, replaced my valvetronic motor, and two of my injectors. Somewhere along the line this stuttering sound stopped :

My vehicle has the same problem: when the door is unlocked, a clunking sound can be heard. The engine hasn't been started yet. However, the clunking sound does not occur every time. The dealer diagnosed the problem and determined that VVT (valvetronic) motor has to be replaced.
