2011 335i engine cranks longer when motors warm!!!

Hello, my car starts perfectly fine if the cars cold, starts right away as soon as i hit the engine start button... But when the cars warm, then it takes a bit longer to start.

What is the reason for doing this? Anyone else have the same issue?

Since it starts perfectly fine on cold starte, cant be hpfp is it??

Thanks for any help!!

2011 is under warranty, right? Just bring it in. It's never happened with my N54, but on other vehicles, cold start/hot start behaving differently has indicated a serious fuel injection issue. imho testing the various rest pressures etc. is not DIY on a 335, but I could be wrong, there is a lot of knowledge on this forum.

It's probably the HPFP. I just had mine replaced this Monday and my car is also a 2011. Now it starts the second you push the button.

It would be covered if you have CPO.

It might be covered under 'good faith' since it's so close to 50k if you're out of warranty though.

If it is the HPFP I believe there's an extra long warranty on them so I think you're good either way.

I guess at 51k not unless it's a CPO. The HPFP is covered, but it's one of those if it's that, it's covered, if it's not, you have to pay for one hour diagnostics (or more)....

My previous car was a 2003 530i and the gauge cluster was having issues in 2011 before I sold it. I called up BMWNA and they agreed to cover 75% of the part and 50% of the labor to get it replaced.

The car was way out of any kind of warranty.

That's called 'good faith'.
