my car is shaking and no power when i press the gas
so a few weeks ago i noticed that my car was having a little shake when i was in a red light, i thought was because its cold...
after on my way to Boston (from New York) i tried to pass a car and when i pressed the gas to get speed, my car start to shake and the "check engine soon" light turned on but after a few min everything was normal and the light turned off. Well last night, happen the same and luckily i was almost home (from boston to NYC) and the same thing, car shaking, almost no power when i press the gas and the light "check engine soon" turned on. i dont hear any noise, no codes, and i even took a look to the engine and everything looks fine (i guess) any idea what can be? its a e90, 328xi sedna, 2007 with 85k |

I have a 07 335i coupe and started experiencing the same problems starting last week. My car violently shakes in gears 3 and 4, but not as much in gears 5 and 6. Next morning the car is fine but the problem comes back after 20 minutes of driving. I'm suppose to have it looked at it by a friend who's a bmw mechanic this weekend. I will update you when I find out something. It's one problem after another......

Same experience I had/currently have. Injectors are your culprit! At first they thought it was the HPFP. So they replaced it and did nothing. Symptoms were still there, so I Took her back in and they replaced #3 and #4. Ran fine for 3 months, now im having the same problem again but alittle worse now. Im thinking they should have just replaced them all, but I knew that wasn't going to happen. So now she goes in again for another week or so.

Had the same problem. Turned out it was my transmission that was bad. Had to replace it with a new one but warrany paid for it. Cost was 8k and took about a month to get my car back.

Had the same symptoms your having and could hear a bit of honeycomb rattle in the catalytic converter which I told the dealership about. They spent 4 days trying to diagnose and they finally discovered the catalytic converter was bad. Replaced one and both resonators and it fixed it.

Interesting.....very interesting. Maybe what I thought it was, really isn't. This will be the third time my car goes in for the same exact symptoms. Fist time they replaced the HPFP. 2nd time they replaced the injectors. Maybe they'll get it right this time.
