I couldn't vouch for their service, but GEICO service has been impeccable over the last eight years.

I have American family. I called esurance a while back and got a quote that was FRACTION of what I was paying for both my wife and my cars. I decided not to go with them as I thought it was too good to be true.

Esurance was great for me until I needed to file a claim. Dealing with people over the phone, online adjusters and all that crap was a nightmare. I switched to progressive and never looked back.

I have esurance and have had no problems with them. Dealt with two accidents with them now too and it was pretty easy, I had to do more chasing of adjusters with State Farm when I had them.

e-surance is owned by Allstate, so that's something for them.

IMO, (and I'm sorry for the person who suggested them) Progressive is total crap. I've had two run-ins with them (they were the insurers for two yahoos that hit me), and I had to fight tooth-and-nail to get my car repaired properly. One body shop wouldn't take my car when I mentioned Progressive.

I was always intrigued by E-Surance and even more when they were acquired by Allstate.

I've been a long Allstate customer, and am pretty satisfied.

Exactly, what good is a low price if they won't issue payment or use used crash parts?

Stop getting advice from forums for insurance, it's all relative to the age of the person, driving record, where they live, vehicle, credit rating, etc. The variabilities are endless, you just need to shop around and find out for yourself.

My wife just had an accident, couple weeks ago, car was fixed at body shop that we wanted. Everything was done perfect and communication (with adjuster and etc.) was easy. I guess they are a little better in KY. lol

Read the OP's question, it's all about premiums to be paid from one company vs. another........again a useless question to ask.

Correct, it's not unfortunately. If you know a family member who has served in the military she/he would be well advised to get USAA and pass it on though.

I also had great service from GEICO when I was on my parents policy years ago. I had my own Progressive policy on a beater truck, but never had to use it so I don't know. I can just say that USAA is the best and I'd urge anyone to try to get it if possible.

My friend has just experienced a nightmare with e-surance canceling his policy due to non-payment rather than contact him in any way. His credit card was compromised, so it was canceled and replaced by the CC company.

He paid his e-surance bill automatically with the old card. He went to their website, changed his billing info when he got the new card. He saved the new card info on the site, but never go a confirmation page or email telling him that the card info was saved. He called e-surance to confirm. They (and they have this documented in their call notes) stated the site doesn't always provide confirmation of payment change/processing and that it should auto-bill his new card info within 24-48 hours. He didn't think about it any more because they told him that.

December 1 rolls around and low and behold he gets a cancellation notice via email and snail mail. He calls them. They tell him he didn't pay and invalid card info is on file. He asks them to check their records about his call. They see they f'd up. All they can offer him though is reinstate his old policy which takes 48 hours (So he's not covered for 2 days) or he was told he can "negotiate" an all new policy with them, but that still wouldn't apply until the following day because of "his payment error"...which wasn't his, but theirs.

He needs to drive 2 hours the day this is all happening. There's no way he's taking his car on a road trip w/o insurance. He fights and fights and finally he gets to someone who can reinstate his old policy and finally gave him an apology for e-surance not taking any accountability for how F'd up they had gotten his account. A company who won't own their fuck ups is no company I want to deal with. Ever. Too much hassle if you ask me.

Hmm - I was doing some car insurance shopping over the weekend and had never looked at Esurance before. We are paying $300 a month for the 335i and my fiancee's Q5. No accidents, no tickets, etc for either one of us.

I ran Esurance and for the same coverage it came out to $170 a month.

I'm interested in hearing other people's thoughts on Esurance coverage as well (those who are or were covered by them).

Usaa is the most user friendly. Got in an accident and had a check for the damage within a week.

I have USAA and they are great, had some gravel damage on my car and they paid to get the entire car repainted. They were also really fast sending the payment.
