Rocking drivers seat???
I noticed that my seat rocks back and forth a little at times. Usually it happens if i move or if i take off fast. I got out of the car and pushed the seat and i can hear it rocking back and forth.
I can see anything on the seat rail broke. Could it just be a matter or tightening a bolt or something? Anybody else have this issue? |

is it a rock in the whole seat or just the seat back? if whole seat, check the 4 bolts that holds the seat to the frame. If it's not that, then it's something inside the seat itself.

Mine did this when I first got the car and it was a matter of tightening the bolts that hold the seat to the frame.

Mine was swapped out under warranty for that. There is a couple of threads about the bolts coming loose, so I'd check that first. They replaced the whole seat base (one piece) which was stupid expensive according to the work order.

For me, it was a matter of rocking the seat physically, then underneath it there are bolts which hold the seat to the slider assembly, the ones on the back side of the seat (backrest side) were the culprits. I'll try and get some pictures to help illustrate.

Mine too. Took it to someone who I really trust to know its way around a BMW and he said it was not about the bolts. Unfortunately I did not have enough time to stay and let him check for the actual cause. Can you please post those pictures about what helped you?

Mine does the same thing but I can only feel/hear it when I get in and out of my car. Tighten down the bolts that secure the seat to the chassis. I've been meaning to do this myself.

like other members said, It is usually the bolts if the whole seat rocking. You may think they are tight but they really need to be tightened hard. It is a heavy seat and with a driver or passenger they can cause a lot of pressure.
I changed my seats in my other car and they are not fun to lift.
