HELP!!! e92 BMW 335 Performance Exhaust Confusion! Exhaust diameter?
So I recently bought a BMW Performance Exhaust for my e92 335xi locally on craigslist. I got the system used for $500 which was a steal however, I ran into some issues when I went to have my local shop install it. After getting my 335xi up on the lift, the mechanic showed me that he has to cut the stock exhaust system to install the BMW Performance mufflers and it confused me a little bit because I initially thought the BMW Performance Exhaust for the 335 was a bolt on system. The mechanic then explained to me that if the BMW Performance mufflers were attached to a mid-pipe/resonator, it would be a very simple bolt on install. I left the shop a little confused and decided to do a little research on my end and got even more confused as it seems like most forums show people installing the 335 BMW Performance Exhaust System and its just the mufflers but when I look at the system new to purchase online, it includes the mid-pipe/resonator as well. I would greatly appreciate if someone could tell me if the BMW Performance Exhaust for the 335 does in fact come with a mid-pipe/resonator and I should have one custom fabricated before I install it with the mufflers or if I should just cut the stock exhaust piping and have the BMW Performance mufflers installed. Also, what size is the BMW Performance Exhaust piping if I have to have a mid-pipe/resonator custom fabricated? Thanks!

I have it but my car is not a Xi. They had to cut off original and use clamps to put it on. You can also weld if you have the money. It did not come with midpipe or resonator.

The performance exhaust for an e90 sedan has the mid pipes but the e92 is just an axle back exhaust (mufflers only). It is installed by chopping the old mufflers off and clamping the new ones on

You need to cut the stock piping where the PE ends and either weld one to another or get exhaust clamps, 60mm ID. You can either get ones from BMW for 40-50$ each, or get AUDI ones for 15$ :P
