Arrow Style 162 wheels and OEM tire set for sale - fresh from delivery and unused

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
First, the short form: I am selling my Style 162 wheels and mounted OEM tires as a set. They will be as close to brand new as possible without having taken them off at the factory. Read on for details.

My 330i with ZSP has finally arrived. I am scheduled to take delivery on Sunday, December 18. Once I complete the delivery process, I will drive less than a mile to the shop holding my after-market wheels. Once there, we will remove the factory-provided wheels, set them aside, and mount the replacement after-market wheels.

As I have not yet visited the car on the lot, I do not know how many miles it accrued in transit from the factory and VPC. Whatever it has now, I will only add one more mile of wear to the wheels and tires. The wheel and tire set is hence not strictly "brand new", but it is as unused as possible.

This set is located in San Diego, CA. If anyone local would like to meet me at the shop on Sunday afternoon, we can probably install the set on your car. Otherwise, we'll have to arrange either later pick up or shipping. The shop doing this work ships wheel and tire sets frequently and will do a professional job with the packaging. Local pick up is of course preferred.

Price: $2,000
The shipping cost is set by the shop; I expect it to be $160.

Photos are available.

Questions are welcome.

Just an FYI, these rims have sold in the past with tires for $1400

I purchased 162's with AS performance tires for about $1700 new.

This should give you an idea of the prices going on around here...

Yes, I'm all too familiar with this line. I'm not new around here.

It reminds me of one or two transactions that live on in infamy.

Scarcity and condition must be taken into account. One cannot change a market with a single transaction.

I just think your price is a little high. If you get someone to buy at that price, good!!!

Best of luck with your sale

Thank you. If it turns out I have trouble selling them at this price, I promise to come back and acknowledge that you were the first to spot the problem. Until then, let's see how the market plays out.

How long ago was this? We should ask the seller if he was to do it all over again, would he change anything...my guess would be a hell yes!

I think $2000 is a reasonable price he is asking, considering that they are pretty much brand new. The 162's alone are $1436 including shipping at bmwwheels.com, and the tires (non-RFT) will run you another $500 at least. That's almost 2 grand right there. Run-flats would cost even more.

The people that sold those rims for that low are probably regretting it now, and the ppl. that got them for that price just got lucky at the time.

As clear as you just made it, some people still won't get it...or they are a$$ cheap!

Just my opinion, but for $2000 I'd buy something else. OEM 162's are ok, but they are OEM. I like my car a bit different from the next e90 around the block.

I tried selling mine for $1,500.....but end up taking $1,425.....

Wife wanted them out of the garage.....ASAP! I think it was
a reasonable price.....and they had 500 miles on them!

But if you could get more for yours.....go for it! Every situation is different!

Its a very reasonable price for the wheel/tire in its "brand new" condition. Problem is that there just might not be enough demand to warrant someone paying so much for the OEM. My set has 3200 miles on them, I wont be selling them now, but I dont think they'd go for more than $1200.

Maybe you can sell your brand "new" 330i for $49,000 and trade up for a 530i, oh wait do you not loose 30%+ off your purchase price once your brand "new" car leaves the dearlership lot?

Yea, you're right, "there's a sucker born every minute."

Good luck.

The price of this set new is just under $2700. I can itemize that if you haven't worked it out yourself. The asking price is discounted 26% from retail. Do you still feel your sarcasm is warranted? What is your intent in posting here?

You really can't use that as a comparison. No one in their right mind would go to a dealership to buy OEM rims. Those prices are intentionally inflated for those people who damage one rim and have to replace just one rim. Plus, The sport package only costs 1600 buck, and you get a whole lot of other stuff with that. I don't see how people can honestly sell there SP rims for more than that amount. Granted, 162's are very popular and that does command a bit more of a price.

Where in my message did you see me suggest visiting a dealership?

Add the cost of a shipped set of Style 162 wheels from BMW Wheels, a shipped set of Bridgestone Potenze RE050A tires from Tire Rack, and the cost of getting the tires mounted and balanced at a shop of your choice. You will find the cost to be just under $2700. If you have vendors available selling at a better discount, please let us know.

Yes, I'm obviously a happy customer of the 330i Sport Package myself. Others did not have the option, though, such as those who own a 325i.

Do you mean you honestly can't see, or you really can't see how one could offer such a sale honestly? If you're doubting my honesty, you don't understand how markets work.

I don't want this to devolve to ad hominem attacks. If you don't like the price, stay out of the offer. This sale won't affect you -- unless you're in the market for a set yourself.

Sorry to go way OT, but -- what'd you put on instead of the 162's?
