I see it for 3 series, not 4. Where did you get the port install info? It's my understanding that BMW isn't even offering the port install program yet because supply is so low.

I do see that it is available for the 4 Series as well on http://www.shopbmwusa.com.

About a month ago, my SA had exchanged emails with folks at the port inquiring about MPPK availability and pricing for my ordered 2014 335i. In their reply, they stated that the MSRP is $1570. At the time, that price seemed a bit odd to me since the BMW announcement (dated around 12/16/13) stated a MSRP of $1500. I gather that the extra $70 is the PI installation fee. Clearly, $70 is too low to be dealer installation fees.

I will confirm the availability with my SA, however, I am guessing (hoping) that availability on the BMW site and the pricing structure indicates that it is available for PI or will be imminently.

Update: I just received an email (I am copied) where an individual at the port is confirming to my SA that, "Z4A-M Performance Power Kit has been added to this order ..." (my 335i).

Update 2: I just spoke to my SA and he confirmed that MPPK is now available for port install.

fleetmon.com appears to have a 7-day free trial of satellite AIS tracking. Make sure you cancel in time though!

You're lucky. It's not yet available for 435.

Sorry to hear that. There are definite advantages to having it port installed. Let's hope it becomes available for the 435 just as your car hits port.

You're not kidding. the PPK and MPE are fully residualized if port installed. I could save tons of money here. I even emailed the VP of BMW asking him if he had a timeline...no response, not surprised.

What's the difference between the 335 PPK and the 435 version?

Nothing. That's what's confusing. Unless BMW started the program yesterday and my SA has yet to inform me or find out himself.

Sorry, new here, what do you mean they're fully residualized?

I'll ask my SA. I do know that if an item is fully residualized, it adds to the worth of the car at lease end. for example, if the car is worth $28,000 in 36 months, but PPK is installed, the car is now worth $29,500 (PPK is $1500, not including labor). Don't take this as gospel, I'll double check.

I'm on the fence about getting this kit when I pull the trigger on ordering one.

When you say "dealer price is $1240", does that mean that's what the dealer offered to give you the kit for installed at the port?

Thanks! I see, ya, would be cool if you could check. I'm curious if that's not the case if it's added afterwards (mid-lease).

I believe that the "dealer price" may be the invoice price for MPPK. However, the document I saw did not say invoice price specifically, therefore, I am not completely certain that this is the invoice price.

The dealer will quote you the MRSP (1570). You will have to negotiate with them. If you have already negotiated a price, say invoice +$500, then you should get any option at invoice - in this case, MPPK at $1240 port installed.
