Question about Adaptive M Suspension Option

I have it in my M6. I always drive in sport or sport plus mode. Is that all this option does is the ability to drive in comfort mode? Is the suspension different or same and when not ordered is it always simply in sport plus mode, which is fine by me...LOL

'Regular' M suspension would be something inbetween Comfort and Sport I guess? Or would it equal Sport setting? On regular Fx chassis the M Sport suspension is something inbetween because the everyday driver can't switch so it has to be a somewhat comfortable drive.
