Any UK owners placed an order yet?

Hi there


I've just rung my local dealer and he has told me that if I place an order now I can get one of the first cars in June/July.

Given it's a hotly anticipated car I'm pretty sure I'll know what the answer is but has anybody in the UK managed to get a discount of any kind?

I ordered mine two weeks ago, no discounts offered at all. Suppose only to be expected, no exact delivery date been given yet but provisionally been told end of June early July!

I ordered M4 black, gone quite safe as it's hard to gauge what to go for without seeing in the flesh! Also gone for black merino leather with black piano interior trim! I like black i suppose, HUD, elec blinds sun protection, internet etc, didn't bother with the parking aid, don't really see the point in that unless a woman is going to drive it(I'll wait for the slating from women buyers)

Why? Well why not?!

I've ordered an M4 but the badges will be pulled off and M3 badges put on. M4 is just BMW marketing stupidity.

Do not be apprehensive about DCT. I was the same when I bought my first E90 M3 with DCT - I had only ever driven manual cars and hated automatics.......DCT is absolutely incredible- it can behave like an auto for cruising with barely perceptible shifts but when you flick to manual mode on an aggressive setting the shifts are instant and accompanied by a push in the back feeling every shift- it will not change gear for you even at redline, you have total control. There is also no creep when pulling off like an auto- you will only move when you push the accelerator. DCT is witchcraft- you will love it I guarantee you.

Never driven with a DCT, I'm wondering if I've made the right choice ordering a manual! I'm a little old fashioned in my driving a sports car, was always disappointed my brothers porches were auto it didn't feel correct. But everyone seems to love the DCT.

Don't compare it to the old Porsche tiptronic system, that was really awful. Go drive a DCT M5 or v8 M3 before your spec gets blocked.
