Brake rotor size

Anyone know the size of the brake rotors? It's one of the last few pieces of info we don't have. I'm guessing 14.6" for the front standard brakes, and 15.6" for the CC brakes. I don't see it anywhere.

I'm not sure they've been released, as I've looked for the specs myself. does anyone know the specs of the e9x M3 brakes and the new F30 M performance brakes? it looks like the standard brakes use the same calipers as the F30 M brakes, but has bigger rotors (and I'm sure the rotors are bigger than the outgoing M3 rotors... My guess is 365-370 mm up front).

I'll check my M Performance rotor sizes. I think the new M3 rotors will be the same or similar size.

Although it is not entirely clear if they are speaking specifically about the M3/4 front CSiC brake rotor, a size of 410 mm is quoted for the front rotor, that is a whopping 16.1".

The video clearly shows a Brembo logo on the brakes, together with BMW logo.
Must have been co-development.
I suppose this is good !

The 18" wheels can fit the standard brakes. There's no 15" brake rotors plus calipers out there that will fit in 18" wheels. The most is around 14.7" give or take a touch depending on the calipers. Similarly the largest brake rotors 19" wheels can fit is around 15.7" give or take a touch. The 16.1" rotors only fit 20" wheels on the M5, you can't mount 19s with those. Basically, 14.7 and 15.7 give or take a tenth is the largest they can be.

The M-Performance brakes are made by Brembo as are the OEM M-Sport 335i brakes.

1) Can we stop using inches? No one, not even the American automakers, use the English system anymore (except for wheel diameters). Metric is the dominant system of measurement worldwide.

2) A 380mm disc will fit in an 18" wheel. You just need a compact caliper to do it.

Assuming you are referring to the calipers, yes, the standard ones are blue.

Considering there are 4 available colors, it would've been awesome if BMW allowed you to pick your caliper color.

I am sure they would be happy to paint them whatever colour you desire, for a small fee

That's just it. No need for that! There are already kits in red, orange and yellow available alongside the blue.

I believe this video is about the M5/M6 CCB and not the M3/M4.

They mention 20kg total saving, which is the weight saving on the M5. I believe the total weight saving on the F8X is around 6-7kg...

The rotors on the F8X could however still be the same size as on the F1X.

Doesn't the F1X CCBs require 20s? The rotors and calipers are monstrous. It looks like you can hardly fit a paper between the calipers and 20s. The standard F1X M brakes aren't small but they look tiny next to a CCB equipped car. I had the chance to view them side by side recently. The CCB car was a frozen silver M6GC loaded to the hilt, absolutely stunning looking car.

The std F1x M brakes are 400mm
The CCB F1x M brakes are 410mm

It is correct that CCB requires 20" wheels

Bummer, still no form answer on the sizes of either cast iron nor CSiC. Floridagator: Can you provide your source?

Can't vouch for the accuracy, but in Auto Bild Sportscars Magazine (February 2014 edition) they have the following brake sizes listed in the spec sheet:

Steel brakes:
380mm front / 370mm rear

CCB:
400mm front / 380mm rear

CCB requires 19" wheels according to the BMW configurators that are online at the moment.
