New Owner 335i/ Upgrade question
Here's my scenario. I am new to the BMW world. I have always owned American but had the opportunity to trade in my work car recently. I was looking at the 335i and really liked the ride, speed, luxury and ability to corner obviously.
Coming from a big engine world I need the speed. Keep in mind that this is my work car but I've been really getting attached to this car. I'm thinking about selling the vette and possibly looking at the new M3 when it arrives. Not sure yet. Anyway I'm reading the various threads on here and there seems to be a lot of controversy regarding the upgrades on this car. Now money is not a problem in this decision but it is a work car. I'm looking for some more psi without the loss of reliability and ease of taking this upgrade on and off for warranty purposes. I've read about the codes and how both of these only send messages instead of changing the codes. The two upgrades I'm talking about are the Procede v2 and the JB2R. Now the JB2R from what I surmise needs racing gas (high octane) and here in Ny and with a work car, that’s not an option. I would end up going with just the JB2. Regarding my situation, what would you all prescribe? Thanks in advance.

Both are similar in terms of install/removal. The procede has more low end tq since it runs a fair amount more boost. The JB2R requires 96 octane and is meant to be like a race gas map. The JB2 provides performance equal to most other piggybacks on the market. As of now there is no timing control with the JB, so boost will be a bit more limited in that regard, but don't count on it staying that way
There is no perfect prescription for you other than what you personally deem. There's enough info out that that you can easily spend a good amount of time reading and then decide what works best for you.

But then again I'm tracking the new family car with Procede, have fun though. With a couple mods you'll be keeping up with the new M3 as a daily driver.
