H&R Super Sport Springs on Base 328i
Hi everyone!
I got the chance to lower my car on Monday with the Super Sport Springs (H&R Product #28877-2). It took me a while since I was doing the job on my own and wasn't familiar with working on BMWs (this is my first Bimmer) I searched for a DIY for this install everywhere and could not find one, so I can write up a DIY if anyone is interested. The drop is about 2 inches lower, but not slammed. The ride quality is more stiff than stock, but nothing backbreaking. The steering feels tighter and even though body roll decreased, it is still present. Here's a crappy iPhone 5S picture before heading into work this morning. Yes, I know, I need to get rid of the stock wheels. That's next on my list. |

As for a DIY, I've been so busy lately. I'll try to write one up when I get the chance! I attached an updated photo after 1 1/2 weeks of letting the springs settle: Last edited by bucawke; 02-27-2014 at 08:53 PM.. |

Verrrry nice! I just installed bilstein b8 shocks and H&R sport springs today on my base 328i. I realized the the drop is a little too modest, especially after seeing all properly lowered M3's at the shop. Super sport looks very nice. thank you for sharing.
to rustymimded: is the spacing okay with bumps? added: in the pics, super sport springs on baseline shocks seems have higher car height, compare to msport with H&R super sport springs in this post. http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=847742 Last edited by MyFragileHalogen; 03-28-2014 at 12:51 AM.. |

My 328 has the base suspension and I have H&R sports and want to pair them with the Bilstein B8s... Would love to see how much of a drop I'm looking at. Thanks. |

http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=901631 My wheels are stock 17inch, but my tires are smaller, 235/45r17. So it won't be a precise reference. I will take a pic when I can though. The drop was not satisfying in the beginning. But after they settled down, it looks pretty good. |

I replaced my 17 with 19's non run flats and it actually rides more comfortably. Run flats are so harsh and hard. Can't decide if I should go with the sport springs only. |

Thought I should just give you guys an update. I did bottom out going a little too fast on an average sized speed bump (I didn't see it & I had a total of 4 people in the car), but the car is fine, no damage to anything underneath. As for a DIY, I might have time tomorrow as it is well over due haha.

OP: Replace the stock shocks with Bilstein B8!!! Stock shocks on aftermarket springs don't work!
