ED to PCD RE-DELIVERY TIMING - 10 WEEKS!

I'm going to be doing my 4th ED in April and my first Performance Center Delivery (PCD). I just read that BMW says to expect a 10 week re-delivery for PCD! I'm surprised considering east coast delivery is usually ~5-6 weeks. Why so long for PCD?

It's just a guess, but I'd say since you will have already taken delivery of the car once as ED you'd be at the back of the line for the PCD?

I wasn't given a time frame but was definitely told to expect a delay so I'm probably skipping the PCD redelivery. It's probably also b/c it'll be spring/summer so delays are to be expected.

It put additional 2 weeks out compare to Dealer redelivery after it arrived at the port.

PCD can't schedule you a date until it hit the port, clear custom, but then you are fighting for a spot for redelivery at PCD so the date may not be available like (Mon or Fri) The first available T, W, TH would be the best slot.

My best bet is to have your CA put in a PCD request, once the car return to US and clear custom, the PCD will talk to your CA and see if you like the date giving, at that time if it is short, you can do PCD otherwise the CA can re-direct the car back to the dealership from the port. It is just a determination to see where you want your car sent from the port, to PCD or dealership since you are in MIAMI and the car goes to GA for clearance anyways.

car ordering..late.march delivery orders were placed early Feb or before...and some orders started production really quick...like a week...and waiting boat assignment
next production for Feb orders should be around March 10....note all of this is my own projection...based on observations...note I preferred the second assembly run...never the first...for many reasons not necessary to post.
