McLaren P1 Pics

Stopped by Miller Motor Cars yesterday in Greenwich, CT.

They had just put a McLaren P1 out on their turnstile display. The car is beautiful. Front diffuser only allowed for about 1.5 inches in ground clearance when in "track mode". It's hard to describe the car - it has a presence that you feel your eyes are just naturally drawn to it...really cool!

Photos - iPhone quality - sorry!

* M5 in the background

Quick note: this was a prototype P1 and isn't for sale/fully functional.

Good GOD! That car is just delicious in every way. Hope to see one on the road this season. How much was it?

I love it. I wish it wasn't so limited. I would build every one I could sell.

While there is absolutely denying that it is a remarkable performance car, the styling (in and out) does nothing for me. That interior is weak.

Below are pics of a Lotus Elise and a Lotus concept. They look like brothers.

Lots of MP4-12C's on the ground over there.

How many MP4-12C's does McLaren make per year?

Beautiful car. IMO the best looking sports car there is. Looks like it was designed by an advanced alien intelligence.

I'm going to go with advanced alien intelligence also.

I'm also surprised at how minimalist that interior is. It's nice, but it looks as if there is nothing in there. Guess I'm too used to luxury. Lol!

Gorgeous.

Go look up MP4-VX. Vorsteiner makes a kit that basically takes a MP4-12C to P1 aesthetics.

Indeed. They nailed it down and dropped the gauntlet.
McLaren has set the bar up high; no doubt others will now have the unenviable task of creating something to supplant this marvel. For now, it's tops in a well stacked deck. I've watched Chris Harris and Steve Sutcliffe review this car and they seem equally captivated by its sheer genius.

That Lotus looks more like a BMW i8 rather than the McLaren.
