Coming from a 135i

Hi All,

I've had a deposit down for an M4 for about a month now and had been dreaming about the car for a while but the other day I finally saw and drove an M235i and I loved it. Coming from a 135i, the size is preferable vs the M4 and financially it just makes much more sense for me right now. Would still love to do the M4 down the line but this seemed like a better next step. That being said here is my build:

M235i
Black Sapphire Metallic
Coral Red Interior
Driver Assistance Package
Driver Assistance Package Plus
Premium Package
Technology Package
Manual Transmission
Harman/kardon Sound System
Anti-Theft Alarm System

I am looking for a summer performance center delivery which I am extremely excited for.

Also looking to do some performance parts on it but I am not sure if I will do those off the bat and have them installed before picking up the car or installing as I go, so I can feel the difference.

I agree with them. Being that you've already owned a very similar car (135), I would save my money and wait for the M4. Don't get me wrong..I really like the 235 and am probably getting one myself, but in your case we're just talking about a facelift and some slight performance enhancements/interior improvements Get some variety in this short life.

That is the exact build I'm planning to do at the end of the month!
If I were you, though, coming from 135, I would just hold out for the M4.

I'm very happy with the 1 and I don't mind having something similar for a while. The m4 is another 28000 on top of this the way I want it built so I'm going to hold out and maybe go that route at the end of my lease.

I'm also coming from a 135i and I will say this about the M235i after driving both...amazing!

I can safely say that I enjoyed driving the M235i more so than I enjoy driving my 6spd 135i now. The M235i is just that much more capable and more confident then the 1er or at least that's how I feel about it. Where the 1er would go sideways at certain higher speeds in the bends, the M235i does not!

I can't imagine how much better the M3/M4 are going to be! They have to be a beast of a car...but like mentioned, it's about +/- $28k to get there.

I felt similar about the car, I also believe that they did an exceptional job with the styling. I think its a great natural progression from the 1, they fixed the front end which I felt was a bit too happy and not mean enough but they kept the general profile shape which is my favorite angle on the 1.

All in all very excited for this car.

I am in the same boat as you. I was planning for an M3 or M4 and coming from a 335i but size wise I prefer something a little smaller. Leasing this for 3 years you will be able to save a lot of money and either hop into an M2 or an M4 halfway through its life cycle. The M4 will likely be better at that point with improvements and much better deals will be a breeze to find.
