Power plant live near the inner harbor has nice outdoor seating area with several restaurants right there and usually a band playing on the outdoor stage. Mt. Vernon, up Charles St. heading North from the harbor has nice classy small restaurants if you want to get away from the corporate chains in the harbor. Might want to avoid areas west, near camden yards and the trauma center, north east near Hopkins, and Baltimore St. between commerce st. and gay st. which is known for its strip clubs and sketchy people.

I thought you said you were staying at the Sheraton.? If your looking for a place room in the harbor look at the courtyard marriott and a new hilton over at harbor east. They are a tier down from the bigger hotels but new and in a very nice new area. The harbor is about 15 min. from BWI.

You should check out a bar in Federal Hill called Illusions. There's a guy that hangs upsidedown from the ceiling and gets out of a straight jacket, while you have drinks at the bar. It's a few blocks from the Harbor and there are a ton of bars a block away. All the bars are on Cross Street. I like Sky Lounge. It's a trendy place compared to the other bars that have more of a college feel. There are many of those and you can't miss on any of them because they are all packed.
Also, if you like dance music with occasional hip-hop thrown in, my friend owns a night club downtown called Stadio. It's two blocks from the harbor. Saturday is the night to go (pretty crowd) and I can probably get you in for free if you are interested. This place has a dress code. Basically, no torn jeans and sneakers for guys. Women can wear what they want. You can email me if you want other info about the city too. I lived in Federal Hill and I am buying another home in Fells Point so I know the area pretty well. I also ran a promotions company and I have kept in touch with all the promoters. Just let me know what music and/or scene you and your girl are into and I am happy to help. DAviles@RusselBMW.com

Until recently Baltimore was not a city that you would want to visit... But, it's changed a lot recently.
