My auto-dimming exterior mirrors have lost their efficiency or have been swamped intentionally with non a non-dimming version during one of the visits for service. I didn't notice the difference immediately as I am not driving a lot during the night. Can someone assist on how to tell the difference between the two versions? Unfortunately I couldn't find a valid BMW P/N on the back of the glass. There is a number ( 27175 9250414) but this is not a valid P/N. I Google-d the number but w/o success.

EZ - the non dimming side mirror glass is tinted Blue & very noticeable + only electrical connections on backside are (2) spade lugs for the heating function:








Auto-dim glass is clear when not dimmed + there is an entirely different electrical connector on backside that provides for both heating & auto-dim:

What dealer would intentionally swap your mirrors for non-dimming ones? Maybe your sensor went bad.

...it's not the first time when I had parts missing or swapped...many of the people working in these dealerships have no integrity, that's why.
