Purpose of micro filter
So what is the precise purpose of the micro filter... is it to stop funky odors from getting into your HVAC system? How does it differ from the cabin filer- one and the same?

I think it's the same one, has charcoal in it to help with odors. Does nothing IMO in regards to filtering dust though. I constantly clean my vents and they still get very dusty.

They help w/the skunk smell here in the Chicago area
 They got rid of all the coyotes so they are running rampant.

Ah ok- last I checked it, it was pristine with a few little things in it I tapped out- ah well, it's free anyway! Thanks for clarifying Scott
