Which of the following brake pads do you use?

Time has come for me to replace my brake pads, and the following pads are crossing my mind, so wanted to know which you guys are using or have used and your experiances!

Ebc Redstuff, Hawk HPS, Cool carbons, Rotex Gold and Akebono

Ps: I dont do any drift, so its purely for daily driving.

Ebc yellow tends to get good reviews on here and there is a discount group buy in the for sales

I will be going down that route next time

Have pagid pads on at the moment and can't wat to get rid of them

If you do go down cool carbons I would be interested to see what you think of them or if anyone else has them what they think

I keep hearing the the yellow stuff are GREAT Pads when at operating temps but have terrible bite when cold. Can people confirm please.

The majority of my journeys are no longer than 8-10miles at a time, and more likely to be in traffic so i hardly get the chance to warm my pads... Cold bite is vital

i dont know why EBC get such rave reviews on here, every single other owners forum I've been on, do not rate EBC products at all, over priced and, from greenstuff's just falling apart, to yellowstuffs having horrendous bite they just don't seem to compete with other options out there?

personally for road use, ill stick with Ferodo Premier, track use ill go with something with a bit more bite, either from the ferodo range (like their DSxxxx pads) or something abit more tasty if required.

Ferodo are a great pad from what i hear. You are right though Icekube, this is why i have always been reluctant to use EBC.
There discs are shockingly bad

This is exactly what I was thinking - the EBC stuff are very much not recommended on other forums I have been on for various reasons.

I want to get a set of Ferodo DS2500 pads when I need to change mine but have not been able to find the correct PN due to confusion about the brake spec on my LCI. I've been using them on my Golf with Porsche BBK for about 3 years and they are damn good, even when cold.

yes, cold bite is horrible but when warmed up it keeps biting til no tommorow on track.

hence its not reccommeded for daily drive use

i imported mine and happy to say they are worth every penny.

my old set up was coolcarbons on stock disc

my current set up is stoptech disc with ebc yellow and rear, is stock disc with coolcarbons.

if you never track the car the cool carbons will be perfect!! very strong bite from cold, no squeak and last for ages.

my advice is that you install the pads on new disc at the same time to prevent putting new disc on uneven wear disc.

also it is worth to change the oem brake hoses and brake oil every two years as the rubber hoses tend to loosen up by that time.

Even in the biking world ebc are not rated at all.

Carbon loraine get good reviews

Coolcarbon will be my choice as they are meant to dust less
