Anyone Vinyl wrapped their car before?
So, I bought a roll to wrap my car but after trying to wrap the hood I realized I can't do it solo lol. Anyone who has done this before want to help? I'll buy food and all the beer you can drink! (20 beer limit) lol

Peel one edge and tack in to the fender then slide the backing off underneath the vinyl (without creasing) hardest part. Then tack a middle point and start stretching. Creating a (glass like) look will make installing easiest. The flatter it lays on its surface the easier it is to install.

The hood is the easiest part. If you're having trouble with the hood, you're never going to get the bumper done.
You can do it solo, it just takes longer. As the other poster said, position it properly and tack a corner down, I typically use tape to hold it, some people use magnets. Then peel the backing paper off and start in the middle, then work your way out. Keeping the vinyl wet while you're doing this is necessary, and so is the heat gun. |

^LOL
I'm down to try but also don't have the pro skills to bring to the table...I have done tons of research brands, quality and also techniques...I have tried multiple wraps like window trim, roof and more but don't have confidence yet to do anything major...Couple weeks ago there was a vendor "M Decals" that had an entire roll 50ft of vinyl with air release for $100...If you guys are down to split the roll and use it for experimental purposes lets do it...It would cost us $33/person and it would be enough for us to pretty much become good enough to do entire cars...If that roll is not available anymore we can split another "cheap" but decent quality roll from ebay that has similar technology.. It might not be as good but if we can learn on the shittier vinyl we can easily lay down the better 3m, Hexis, Oracal etc that are more forgiving and longer lasting... What do you guys think...I think together we could easily make it happen with the motivation we have for our cars and our interest in learning to lay down vinyl...

Actually, that's where I got the roll.. I bought it and now I want to do it on my car but lack the technique. I watched several videos but it's not the same as having actual experience. I got the heat gun, and have ordered the felt squeegee. I was also looking at some sort of spray you use on the car to be able to float the vinyl and it's supposed to be easier to wrap you car with that.

Hey, I'm definitely down! Willing to drive to the OC to make this happen. Especially if we have some sort of vinyl car meet where we all help each other. We can all bring drinks and food and have a big vinyl party afterwards XD
