N52 drinking fuel...
This has been going for about a month now.
I thought it might be the heavier Michellin Pilot Sport ZP tyres all around... but the needle is dropping quickly... For example... a motorway run of 100 miles at 70mpg would take a few notches (say 1/16 of a tank... not good with fractions so let's say 1/4 of that first 1/4 tank... Now the same journey can take near enough one whole 1/4 I don't know if it is related but there is a wheezing sound from near the back of the engine. I opened up the hood today and listened into it. Any thoughts appreciated. |

Checked the hidden menu. Don't think it is the stat. Climbs up steady, doesn't jump around and holds stable when driving. Fans are not kicking in either so doesn't sound like any over-heating either.
Driving wise the engine temp gauge is stable as well. Electric water pump and all that so obviously on an average run it stays at 100 and sometimes on a spirited run too. Last year I did take it to the dealer as it went up to 120 but the dealer said that this is apparently normal depending on the hot weather (was a summer unlike now)... the guy next to me that day said he had seen 160 but again... his was fine and nothing wrong with it. Dunno ps. sorry Mods. feel free to move to technical. my bad. |
Appreciate
