i got mine from BMW £13 for a litre bottle - i would personally stick with BMW as its a no no to mix different types of coolant
if you know coolant has never been changed most likely it will be bmw coolant - turquoise/blue colour |

try a litre bottle (hopefully you wont need more than that) but remember the litre is concetrate i would do a 50:50 mix - water : coolant
Monitor the level to see if level drops again if it does investigate where/why i would nto advise driving around with low coolant light - top it up with bit of water if you need to use the car to get to the dealer |

I thought that was just for lead -acid batteries ?
Ive always filled my cars with tap water + antifreeze - maybe I was wrong.

You don't 'have' to use de ionised water , I have known many people just stick tap water in and I have done on a couple of previous cars but deionised water is better as tap water has elements in I that can react and cause issues such as has been stated above
