Black Wheels with Chrome Valve Stems!?
So my wheels came in, but the shop I bought them from put regular silver/chrome valve stems on them. Anyone else have this experience, or did the place you bought from include black stems? I thought that would be standard from any aftermarket wheel shop.
I bought some stems from apex to replace them with, but I"m not 100% sure they will fit the TPMS sensors the shop used. What other options do I have? Do they make valve stem covers in black? |

That might be something you need to DIY. Honestly though, something like that is not super noticeable from my experience. Most people wouldn't criticize you for having silver stems on a black wheel.

It's more of a thing that will bother me. I already bought the new stems so I'm going to just have them remounted at the shop. An extra 100 bucks to get them the way I want them isn't such a big deal. Just bummed the wheel shop didn't offer black stems at an extra change at the very least.
I thought about plastidip, but so much trouble protecting the rest of the wheel. |

I'd also try this first.
I recently lost one of the gray OEM valve stem caps. Almost bought a replacement for like $5 but then decided to go the Sharpie route. I have tons of the black valve stem caps and I had a Gray Sharpie. I colored a black one gray and it looks nearly identical to the 3 other real gray ones. This is after a harsh winter. Sharpie Gray is still holding strong!! Glad I didn't waste any $$. Only concern with the black Sharpie that I've noticed in the past is it can cast an odd looking sheen when viewed at certain angles that seems to give it a hint of color. You could always Sharpie the stems and then use regular black caps. |

Yup, I had black rims with grey valve stems. Bothered me a whole month until I replaced it with black stems. I did, however, used black sharpie on the aluminum balance weights. teehee

That's what I'm talking about. As soon as I get home I'm taking them to the tire shop to get the black stems mounted.
