My E92 M Sport LCI progress thread

Hello everyone, my name is Neil, I'm from Runcorn in Cheshire. Been lurking around the forum for a while now, getting some usefull tip from you all.

So I though I would share with you my E92 320d M Sport LCI. I've always modded my cars and this will be the same.

My last BMW was a 2008 E87 118d M Sport. I had it remapped to 180 bhp, custom twin exhaust and plenty of carbon fibre

So on to my E92. The first mod was colour coding the grills

Then it was a M3 lip spoiler, half carbon fibre, half SBM

Next was a custon made 335 style exhaust with 3.5" slash cut tips, finished off with a carbon fibre diffuser and a set of 19" 313 alloys

Last of all, i didnt like the alloy hex pattern interior trim. So I've wrapped it in black brushed titanium, which looks much better.

Thing for the future, well next will be a re-map. Then maybe a slight drop and some subtle tints.

Hope you like

Looks stunning! Any vids of how the exhaust sounds, always been tempted with a 335 one but don't know if the lads @ work would take the piss saying I'm trying to make it look like something it isn't...

Thanks mate, I do miss the 1er, it was totally mint inside and out. It was a good introduction to BMWs coming from VWs, but it left me wanting a bit more this has filled that so far.

Thanks Jamie, the exhaust sounds no different, even with the rear box removed. Got it done for looks more than anything, but if it does give a few more bhp come remap time, then thats a bonus

Its not lowered, standard M Sport set up. I think its the slope on the drive way

Little update. finally took the plunge and bought one of these BMWP style splitters off ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PERFORMANC...item3f3d6feef1

As with all things off ebay, I was a bit wottied about quality and fitment

This what it looked like straight out of the box. First off I test fitted it, which it did perfectly. Then I had to decide how to finish it, dont want it colour coded, as any stone chips would stand out a mile . So it was between plasti-dip matte black or carbon fibre wrap.

Here it is wrapped in lovely 3M DI-NOC carbon fibre wrap

And here it is fitted to my car

The ebay seller is a really nice bloke, the E93 in the ad is his own. Very helpful all along. It took just over a week to receive it and provided tracking number

Looks really well some nice subtle mods. The only thing that spoils it is the key ring!

RED!

Any tips for wrapping your trim, i have the hex aluminium and managed to get all the trim off, but could not remove the 2 central grills on the main part of the dash, it felt like it was going to break the tabs.

Also how did you remove the ashtray lid and chrome tab?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks,
Andy

I was having the same dilema, but couldn't justify paying that much from BMW. I did come across this one, if its closer to your budget

I wouldn't bother with the hex trim. I took it off after a couple of months, there's not enought contact area for the adhisive and it started to come away around the edges on a warm day

Not go any pics of the underneath, sorry. The underneath is not smooth like the topside, you can see the fibre glass. But once wrapped and on the car you can't see any, it looks all the same. It has a lip on the underside edge which is smooth, thats all you see

The wrap went on ok, you couldnt see the hex pattern through it. The issue I had was on a hot day, the wrap came away around the edges where it had been stretched due to the lack of contact area. Maybe if you used 3m spray glue on the trim, it might stick better
