Lightbulb driver side corona ring burnt out

so today i start my e90 and the light malfunction error come up. so i check my lights and noticed that my conora rings on my driver side has burnt out. im already out of warranty (60k miles). So im assuming that my dealer will hose me if i bring it too them. I went on to bavauto.com and i couldnt find the stock replacement. But i came across these PIAA angle eyes for ~$170+ shipping. Should i buy the PIAA's? what are the pro and cons if any or just go to my dealership.

If you're going for the white LED corona rings, buy the Lux 4.0 from NA Motorsports instead of the PIAA! You will not regret getting them~

Going to the dealer most likely entails the replacement of a HALOGEN bulb for an arm and a leg, probably plus a new born as well. From my experience with replacing the angel eyes / corona ring, it takes about 1.5 hours to do. I would suggest you do DIY as it is not that tough to do. The replacement bulb is fairly cheap.

+1 for lux4

I found that removing the wheel makes servicing the AE bulbs much better.
After you do it once, getting there is a breeze.

I've installed the PIAA's, and they are outstanding. I could also sell you my old bulbs, they have about 5000 mi on them.

The install of the 1st side took over 45 minutes. The next side took 5 minutes. I have some photos of my install, I can write a DIY for you.

mike, this would be a good opportunity to switch to LEDs. They are much brighter, whiter, and make your angel eyes stand out more at night.

ok im starting to get won over on the Lux 4.0s. The only thing is the PIAAs have a life time warrenty vs the lux 4.0s one year. and the price $170(PIAA) vs $225(Lux 4.0).

How long do they both last and are the lux 4.0s worth the extra $$$??

All I can say is PIAA is one of the most respected names in off-road and after-market auto lighting. I'm not knocking the LUX, I know absolutely nothing about them. I know the LUX is brighter, but I have had the PIAA installed for about a month now, and I am VERY happy with them. The quality is 2nd to none.
