Need some input
Hi Guys,
I have a cylinder misfire and my car is still under dealer "Lemon Law" warranty. Is it is a good idea to address other cylinders as well? And do you think that the dealer would replace coils / spark plugs for non failing cylinders? Thanks in Advance. |

i would say no, the dealer will only want to replace the "faulty equipment" i work at a car dealer now and i know i wouldn't replace equipment that will fail unless its all one system.
But i can tell you from experience, once one goes its only a matter of time before the other ones do, esp for a tuned car. Hope it goes well for you!

Thanks guys, I have an appointment this afternoon. I'll try to convince the dealer to replace items for all four cylinders but I am not counting on them to do so. I was thinking about going for a walnut blast. Is that a good time to replace coils/plugs/injectors for cheap?

Hi Guys, my dealer (a big one but not a BMW) declined to perform repair even though my car is clearly under warranty claiming its not a safety issue. However my warranty document says both usability and safety are covered under it. Should I take a legal action against them? The guy who sold the car to me agrees that the service department made a mistake but they are too stubborn to admit it. They quoted me $250 to replace one coil, is it a fair price or should I look else where? Does anyone what these things cost (one vs six)?
Thanks in advance. |

your 2008 is still under BMW/CPO warranty?
If it's just "lemon" law.. They would only cover safety and bigger engine issues. I don't know if wear and tear would be considered under that. How long have you had the car? That is probably you're only justification for getting them to cover it. |
