Velgen VMB5 Tire Size Recommendation

Hey guys, looking for some help from the group. Just got some Velgen VMB5 19" rims (F: 19x9 +35, R: 19x10.5 +45).

Trying to decide what tire sizes to go with. Debating between 245/35/19 + 275/30/19 or 245/40/19 + 275/35/19.

My car is a f30 328i lowered on H&R sport springs. A part of me wants the larger profile tires to minimize wheel gap, but I'm unsure if it'll cause rubbing. Plus I haven't seen many pics with that slightly larger profile.

What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance!

245/35/19 and 275/30/19 is the correct size but you can go with 285/30/19 to increase the rear profile a little. 245/40/19 will rub a lot up front.

X2 with the 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 or 285. A 40 profile in front will not work.

Awesome! Thanks guys. I think I'm gonna go with 285 in the rear. Not sure how visually different it'll be from the 275s. Looks like we're only talking a 0.25" diff in overall diameter.

Is it safe to say that 285s on the rear wouldn't cause rubbing?

Just got my velgens mounted this morning. F245/35/19 and R275/30/19. F30 328i lowered on H&R sport springs. I am pleased with the results!

Looks great!!! I ordered mine yesterday in gunmetal. I wasn't planning on a drop because of my CF lip, but that looks really nice. Hmmmmm...

I think the drop with H&R springs is subtle enough to not cause you issues on most parking lot ramps and driveways. I've never scraped yet on a speed bump. And while I've scraped on driveways when not angling the car, it's always the underside of the lip (often times the rivets on the bottom of the lip and not the lip itself).

I would recommend the small drop! I personally wouldn't drop it any further though.

It is tempting. I don't want to jack someone else's thread, but I'm going to be running 245/35s up front and 285/30s in the rear on these same exact wheels. Does that effect your opinion about possible rubbing at all?

And are you talking about the H&R sport springs or the non-sport springs?

Thanks.

I have the H&R sport springs (not the super sport springs) installed on base 328i suspension. I have about 1.5 inch clearance in the front (a tight fit of two fingers). And the rear is only a finger width of clearance, so maybe like .75" clearance.

I don't have them yet. I'm still just on the stock 18" wheels and tires that came with my M Sport 435i. They are on order and I probably won't get them until late next week.

I have yet to see anyone post pics of these wheels (and tires) on a stock M Sport suspension before lowering, so I will be sure to do so once I throw them on my car. Maybe that might help someone else in the future? If someone knows of any such pics, please point me in the right direction. I've been searching for the last few weeks.
