Is it a good time to buy an E92 M3?

There are a lot of E92 M3's coming up for sale on the BMW AUC site at the moment. They don't seem to hang around for long, but they are coming up thick and fast now.

For example, a March 2012 plate with DCT and EDC can be had for around £38K with under 10k miles on the clock. They all seem to be in white nowadays. My preference would have been grey, but I haven't seen any on the AUC site.

Is it worth waiting until the new M3/M4 is on the road? Maybe E92 prices will drop sharply. I suppose it might depend on how well received the new one is.

I've been driving the 335i for 4 years now (which is twice as long as I normally keep a car) and I fancy driving a NA car for a bit. I'm after a low mileage M3 so I can keep if for a few years.

Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

Our local dealer had 4 white M3's, all registered in the same month, all in the same mileage bracket, same spec, dct, same price. They now have 1 left (which my mate, the used car sales manager) is using as a company car.

Personally I would think the next couple of months would be the most dangerous time to buy one as the new model is coming out and we don't know how this will affect used car prices. They might take a hit or they might retain value (due to being the last with a NA engine).

I would hang fire for a couple more months. My mate suggested they will become even more common at dealers soon due to customers collecting their new cars.

Not quite the same, but i waited and waited for the 4 series to come out before picking up my E92 325i and only noticed a slight reduction in prices after its release and not a dramatic one. Iv been disappointed by the lack of 4's on the road to be honest. Apparently the guy who traded my new car in at BMW chester for a 4 series.

Having had an e93 M3 personally I would wait a year as the new M4 is out, ironically I don't even miss mine ... I got bored of it after 9 months.
