Newbie Just ordered today E90 AW 6sp MT

I've read a lot of this forum in the past month trying to decide what options and color for my 335i and today i placed the order: Alpine white, Sport and premium packages and 6 speed manual tranny. i will change the wheels to 19x8.5 F and 19x9.5 or 10 R and i have a couple of questions... anyone with my set up and black wheels with polished lip? pics? also for the front i figure 235/35's but for the rear what would be best 265/30 on a 9.5" or 10" wide or the 275/30 with a 9.5" or a 10" wheel with no rubbing issues?

i tried all different searches but never got the answers. i wouldn't want any rubbing if i have 2 or 3 passengers. i may decide to lower the car but the wheels are going on first.

thanks

Welcome. We almost have the same cars, except I don't have premium. My old set up, I had black wheels with polished lip, but recently changed.

If you're going with 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear, you need 235/35/19 for front and 265/30/19 for the rear. My offset for the rear was 40, but I used 15mm spacers so it was 25. It wasn't an M3 offset, but it was decent. I rubbed with a full load, 3 passengers, but I was lowered to begin with, with no finger gap all the way around. I had my fenders rolled so I didn't rub anymore with a full load.

If you don't plan to lower the car, you can even run M3 offset and be OK.

Just reset the TPMS after you install the new wheels/tires and you should be fine.

You will need to install the TPMS (tire pressure mounting sensor) on the new wheels to avoid error lights.

He can't do that like us. All E9x's built after March 07 need to have the TPMS sensors or else the flat tire message will not go away.

Welcome, and congrats on your choice. I'm not a big fan of black wheels (especially on AW) but you're into them go for it.

Congrats. AW is my default color choice if my custom color falls through for whatever reason.

I was under the impression that all E9x's required the TPMS sensors. Is that not true? My 335 was built 10/06. Can I get away without the sensors and not have the constant warning? I wouldn't mind deleting them from my winter tire package if possible.

I believe the coupe always have had the TPMS sensors in the wheels. It is the sedan that implemented the TPMS in the wheels later.

that is exactly what i want exept i want a rear trunk spoiler. your car looks BAD ASS! what kinda lowering/suspension momds did you use?

the TPMS can be found on the stock wheels? all i have to do is swap them?
that shounds easy enough.

not sure if i want to lower it because i have the sport suspension but i love the look of the lowered E90. problem is that i don't want a bouncy ride. i would like a stiff but comfortable ride and i think that the sport package could tolerate a little more stiffness, but not too much. any thoughs on this?

i know that there is a place for suspension and wheel talk and will ask for more info there when the time comes, but i do want to say hello to this very cool forum.

thanks

Pleas fell free to use the search function of the forum before asking questionfs. There is lot of useful information on suspension modification on the board and the answer you are looking for has probably been provided.

I had the sports suspension as well..but the ride was wayy too bouncy for my liking and the gap was killing me. I replaced the suspension within the first 500 miles because I wanted no finger gap at all. If you read my signature, I listed all the mods I have. I'm lowered on KW V2 coilover.

If your 335i is a sedan. yes. All coupes, regardless of what month build needs TPMS. All sedans prior to March 07 don't need them.

so all sedans don't need to worry about the TPMS? so that is not something that i have to transfer from the stock wheels to the new wheels?

thanks

Dude, did you read what I typed? I said all sedans PRIOR...meaning before March 07 build do NOT need the TPMS as it runs on a logarithmic style system. And all coupes need TPMS regardless of build date.

Those are called Blackline tail lights...they are OEM parts from Europe. I would never tint my tail lights, it makes any car looks cheap.
