LCI Leather Interior into Pre LCI E90

Guys,

Will an LCI MSport leather interior fit into a pre LCI MSport with standard alcantara interior?

Any issues around electrical plug connectors or airbag connectors or seat occupancy mats?

Thanks.

They will fit but the plugs for airbags are different.

Ok so just make sure they are both manual seats etc. obviously don't try fit in comfort or memory seats.

A guy here done it last week and said the connectors were the same, the only difference being the LCI seats had an extra plug for the headrest airbag that's not present on the pre LCI version.

This is correct! LCI seats will have an extra connection (white), which you don't need to worry about!

Thanks.
On a slightly different avenue, LCI rear lights....whats needed for them to fit and function on a pre LCI car?

Just the boot lid? is there any coding or anything?
Are they like fitting E60 LCI rears where you need new loom and coding?

thanks.

Does anyone know about putting pre LCI seats into an LCI car?
Specifically, pre LCI M Sport seats into an LCI with SE seats.

If the little while connector isn't plugged into anything on the pre LCI seats would it put the airbag light on?

Yes, you'll have an air bag warning light on the dash.

There must be a way to code it out but not sure how! Find someone who has fitted the performance seats in a lci motor.

As I thought!
I suppose other options are:

1)Swap the LCI headrests into the pre LCI seats
2)Put a resistor on the white connector to fool it into thinking its got an airbag connected
3)Code out the headrest airbags

I would assume a BMW garage would do number 3!

1 is probably the easiest.

True, but then they wouldn't match.

Ive just found this after some quick digging on a BMW coding forum:

Goto ABG module and turn off the headrest monitors and then clear the errors with INPA

Edit: More info:

code the following lines in the ABG module:
AKS_LINKS_1_CD (left side)
aktiv ---> nicht_aktiv
AKS_RECHTS_1_CD
aktiv ---> nicht_aktiv

Thats all above my head though!

Good find! That's very simple for anyone who knows how to code!

Re Dest's option 1 - Has anyone attempted passing the Crash Active wiring through a pre-LCI seat?
For me, this is best option as it's not interfering or altering a factory setup. I just want to gauge how difficult it is to feed the wire through the seat.
Looking at the diagram on RealOEM there doesn't appear to be a channel through the seat for this wire so it must just run through randomly...

I would assume the plastic back of the seat comes off (clipped on? time to google...) and then it would give you full access to the inside of the seat back to run it down to the base really easily.
The only thing with that option is the headrests wouldn't match the seats.
My choice would be to get the headrest airbags coded out
