Exclamation Breaking News -M3 Base Price/Options Info -"Sourced Est."

As many of you know, I am going through MIL sales. I do not want to quote the MIL sales price estimate exactly. Many of you will be able to figure it out anyway. But, based on the updated estimate and official MIL sales literature I received a few moments ago I can clear up a few things perhaps. Please understand it is MY belief these numbers/must be close to ground truth due to the source. I am not trying to be an e-hero here so Epacy don't flame me

Base Price - 57.5K plus or minus a few hundred dollars. +delivery + Tax

I did get options package info and dollar estimates and groupings. No surprises except the following. Some are surprises, some are confirmation of suspicions already made on this board.

Base audio system appears to be the same 10 speaker 200 watt system found in the 328i. The upgrade audio (probably to HK Logic 7 Surround) IS listed as a stand alone option for the US market at $700.

Comfort Access is included in the Technology Package but was ALSO listed as a stand alone option at $500.

The power moonroof was NOT listed as a NO COST option, it was $1050.
EDC and 19" were close to predictions at $1400 each. Of course EDC is in the technology Pkg but is $1400 if purchased as a stand alone option.

Last but not least, as I understood it, the US market will NOT be affected by the Euro-Dollar fluctuations to any great degree.

Interesting, thanks. Can you post the prices of the various packages?
No listing of the individual hi-end audio?

The price you posted is the base MSRP, not the one you are getting through military sales, correct?

Correct. I am guessing 57-58K after adding the expected discount ($900 over the last "known" discount on the 2006 MY) to their price quote they sent me.
Technology Pkg was $3600, all other options and packages seemed to mirror typical 3 series price structure other than what I noted above.

Can you scan or post the prices of all the options they gave you? Just so we can guage our option costs?

The Technology Pkg is priced basically the same as NAV,CA, and EDC combined with M Drive thrown in because it pretty much costs BMW nothing for the programming of the button I would imagine...

Sorry for my multiple posts. I would prefer not to scan and post...but if you read what I posted so far, it will be easy to snap together a possible estimate. The one thing I didn't get was about the extended leather, surely it isn't 2100 PLUS the 1450 leather price, right? And if you get the Premium Pkg, shouldn't extended leather just be a $700 upgrade approximately?

So NAV is only $1,700?
Can you just post the prices for everything? I am sure you will get asked that 1,000 times by people who come in here.

Yes, I was thinking $2100 for just the extended leather is extreme.
Perhahps just posting the 3 package prices if you don't want to do everything.

Can't believe they charge for trim.

I sure hope your source is right! I might be able to walk away with this car for around $70K with most options.

Thanks
Let's get Lucid in here for that ZTP package price.

So no mention of the Individual sound system?

Hey, let's see if those are his or our prices first. If they are our prices, I'm glad I didn't bet on that one! On the other hand, the $57.5 base price is right in-line with my recent $58k estimate.

Big questions

I understand (sort of) that you don't want to scan and or post what you have. But the big question I have is what you have and how you determined the values you posted.

1. As far as I know there is no strict % increase from Military pricing to non-Military pricing. The % varies by the model even in the BMW line up. Correct?
2. Do you have Military or non-Military pricing?
3. If you have Military how did you choose the CRITICAL % mentioned above.
4. Did you use the same rules to convert option prices?

Thanks much for the good info. and for sharing.

Just curious where you got your information. As you know I am also doing Mil Sales and have not received any official or more official word than the original estimates given to me by my rep.

The estimate that was given to me was about 50K and that was 10%(best case) under MSRP which would be 55K MSRP base.

The options that were shown to me, that I also have the paperwork for, were all based on the 3ser.

All these numbers are well over 6 months old as I did my paper work even before I left for deployment.

This is the last letter I received from my Mil Sales Rep

Jason,

I had emailed the factory last week and was told that we will not have
any firm info before earliest end of November. I know there are many
things floating around on the web but for now nothing that is officially
released. I know that many of the web info's are real and some guy at
BMW has published that but I can not confirm any of the info until I
have the official order guide. I am on top with the factory and will get
you 100% info as soon as it is available

Some of your questions are answered above.

When I asked MIL sales for a price sheet on a 335i many months ago, I was surprised to learn that the options were no longer discounted, only the MSRP, so yes, those option prices should be for all concerned.

As far as how I arrived at the civilian base MSRP, the percent discount off the 2006 MY M3 was X percent, so I added that same percent discount to their discounted price they just gave me, then added the price increase difference between the MY 2006 MIL price and the MY 2008 MIL price, which gave me the civilian MSRP I mentioned in the OP. Simple numbers, if the discount remains proportional in percentage points to the MY 06, then I should be pretty close. Hope that makes some sense.

Maybe this will further explain it, I am not a math wiz, far from it. These numbers below are hypothetical , only to illustrate my reasoning. (Jesus, you guys are making me work for this post!)

Known factors are:

2006 MY MSRP 50,000
MIL Discount 10% = MIL sales price $45000

So if I was provided a known 2008 MY MIL Price of $54900 and $61000 – 10% = $54900 then $61000 (+ another 1,000 perhaps) is the civilian MSRP. The plus 1,000 is due to the fact that the increase in MSRP will most certainly produce a discount greater than 10% as was the case for MY 2006 in my scenario. Again these numbers are only to illustrate my reasoning.
