TCKline - Vendor Best Price?
I am posting this up for my brother who just bought a used e90. He wants TCKline SA Coilovers for his e90. Which vendor has the best price on these?
Thanks, D

idk. I've searched on this out of curiosity. Seems like not many carry: Rogue Engineering, VAC, HPA, maybe Bimmerworld? Everywhere I've seen them, they're at same price as TCK IIRC. Price is lower if you forgo camber plates.

Yes, we have our own, tested and proven, valving in our dampers. We try to give the best price year round so you don't have to wait for a sale to happen, that's why our kits are so competitively price compared to some others.
Our proprietary springs are a lightweight VVS Alloy, which means less un-sprung weight and less chance for coil bind with our thinner coiled springs. Our kits are an extremely good value for your money. |

I hope you guys can budget to do these with the M3 style rear shock control/camber arm.

Why is that important? I know he has done the front conversion but don't think he has done anything to the rear as yet. On my car, I have recently done the front but also haven't touched the rear.

The GC camber plates are very noisy and they don't allow you to reach max camber as the shock hits the strut tower.
Go with the TCKLine kit and either go with their camber only plates or get the Dinan static camber plates.

regarding max camber, my belief is the issue is not the shock but the fact that the top plate runs out of room to slide, underneath. There is a detailed post on 1addicts concerning this, along with pictures. But this is not a ground control specific problem. Even Vorshlag notes on their website that the e9x does not have as much space for the plate to slide as previous 3series, and that camber adjustment may be as little as -2.0 to your current settings. From their website: "Maximum negative camber setting depends on caster setting, ride height, and is ultimately limited by the strut tower opening on these chassis. The E82/90/92 strut tower hole is more restrictive than previous generation BMWs. Expect to get -2° to -3.5° max camber, depending on ride height." It would be interesting to know if tc kline plates have found a way to work around this physical limitation. On my GC Street plates, I can get to -2 easily, which should get me to -3.1 since I'm starting around -1.1. There may be a small amt of travel beyond that, not to mention I'm at stock ZSP height, so I would guess it would go even more negative with lowering. Regarding noise, no noise yet. They are absolutely silent, at least so far with over 1k miles. I suppose this could change, but so far, so good. Last edited by mlifxs; 04-16-2014 at 08:01 AM.. |
