Squeaking noise coming from rear suspension

There’s not much info online about this but I’m getting a squeaking sound coming from the rear suspension. It's actually coming from a particular bushing at the rear right side of my 2007 335i. It sounds like a couple going at it on an old spring bed. It’s an annoying “er er” noise which doesn’t take much of a bump in the road to duplicate. I’ve pin pointed the bushing’s location but I don’t know the name of the arm that it’s attached to. I’ve added a couple of pics to show the location. See bushing (item #9) and arm (item #4) on the diagram.

I need to know the name of the arm so I can order the correct bushing. Is it a control, trailing or some sort of carrier?

Also, is replacing the bushing something that I can do myself?

Looks like you're looking for this #9:

Normally you must must get a wheel alignment after replacing the bushing. You also need a lift and specialized equipment like a bushing extraction tool. I would go with an indy.

Looks like the subframe bushing for the lower camber arm. BMW calls it "Roll-over strut with rubber mount". As indicated above the part you need is #9. You diffinitely need to replace it, but...

I would discribe the door seal noise exactly like that. And when I first heard it, I thought it was the rear suspension.

Did you do the bushing replacement yourself or have an indy do it? Mine is doing the exact same thing on the exact same side, and I've come to the same conclusion as you.

I've decided to buy the bushing and make my own puller out of materials from HomeDepot. This video will at least help to get the strut lowered:

I might also have to get an alignment done afterward.
