M Performance Exhaust Startup Sound

edit: my bad, it's the M Performance Exhaust I've got. Excuse my mis-labelled title...

Ok, call me an old foggy etc. I think the startup sound with the M Performance exhaust is just cheesy. Too loud, and it just annoys the neighbors and others. It finally fades back to an acceptable level after 15 seconds or so, but d*mn, you have to listen to that high-pitched drone every time you start the car. I assume its just some valving in the exhaust that opens/closes?

Honestly, it's not that pleasant a sound. Too raspy and high pitched. I've had many other sports cars with better idle exhaust notes. The MPE on the 335 ain't one of them. I assume this can be disabled via coding? Wanted to check here before I head down that route.

There isn't an MSport exhaust. I have an MSport and it's the same exhaust in all 335's (including the no-line 335).

Do you mean the MPE (M Performance Exhaust)? If so, I test drove a 335 with the MPE and I was not a fan. I also felt the start up was a little too loud for my liking. I don't mind an exhaust as long as it sounds good (i.e. my neighbor's 911 turbo).

Yes, it's the M Performance Exhaust I've got, thanks for the correction. My mistake. Otherwise, the same request. Can the startup sound be disabled?

Not that I am aware of. It's a sound from the exhaust, so it can't be coded. You can swap exhausts with a member that has the stock exhaust.

Where are you located?

Whatever is happening on startup is clearly related to valves being opened and closed. After about 15 seconds, the sound returns to a normal level. I guess I'm surprised this isn't a changeable parameter on coding.

Car is leased, can't swap the exhaust. It was a package deal when I got it off the floor. Only option on the car I probably wouldn't have ordered, but I got a killer deal taking a floor model.

not on the cars end, but on your end you can just wear ear plugs when you start it up.

So I guess you didn't start the car up before you leased it? Then you def didn't test drive it. Hmmm...ok

Im sure someone will sell you their old axle back, all you need is an OEM clamp that is available from the dealer. I'd sell you mine if you were in LA.
