E92 LCi 335i questions

Hi guys found a 2010 lci e92 335i Dct with only 14000 miles on the clock on BMW Auc
Put my deposit down and went to go see it
After having an hours test drive I can say I love it !!! fell in love with it after 2 minutes lol
just have a few questions

now the spec is as follows :
Alpine white
313 style wheels
Heated and memory seats
Professional navigation
Electric folding mirrors
Voice control
Extended Bluetooth functionality
Bmw Assist
Bmw online portal
Rear parking sensors
Auto dimming mirror
etc think thats most of it

now the sales man said you can send 5000 songs to the car, how ? my question is what is bmw assist and online portal ??
and it has the usb in the armrest so wondering what spec the media system is
doesn't have dab so am I right saying it doesn't have a combox?
sorry if some of these questions are obvious
thanks for any help

you can transfer songs from a usb stick to the car's media hardisk drive via the usb plug.

your navigation will be called CIC pro idrive, worth to try and get the salesman to update the road map to the latest version as part of the deal.

no sure about the combox

Haha yeah your right !
I just wanted to know what the usb in the armrest did and how it worked
But yeah the sound is awesome !

Another question I know with the M cars that the dct software can be updated is this something that applies to the 335i ?

If you have usb in armrest you should have combox. You should also have Bluetooth streaming as an option too in iDrive if you have enhanced Bluetooth. You can also do things like read txt messages via iDrive with this. USB in armrest will let you stream music straight from it, otherwise you can import via the glovebox USB to the CIC hard drive. It will have just over 12GB storage.

Somebody mentioned updating maps, if you can't get them done, it's about 20 quid for an activation code on ebay and you can grab the maps off a Torrent somewhere on this forum. Put them on a flash drive into the glovebox usb, enter your activation code and it's all good. That's how I did mine as my car had 2010 maps.

Can't help you with the 335i itself or DCT as mines a 330d. Hope this helps anyway.

Yeah I did have my phone connected to the cars Bluetooth on the test drive which allowed me to stream my music across
Didn't really get to explore all the feautures of the
IDrive as I was too busy driving lol !

Anyone know how I can check what year the maps are ?

Go into Nav, then press option and it should have Navigation System Version at the bottom of the list. If you go into that it will say something like Europe 2014 Premium 1.

If yours still has 2010 maps like mine did, you will probably only have 4 digit postcode input. Updating to 2014-1 gave me 7 digit input which is much better.
