1st time owner need shocks
I'm new to BMW's and was told I need new shocks. How do I know if I really do need new ones? And what parts would I need to buy? 09 e90 LCI.

How many miles on the car, are they leaking oil, does the car bounce up and down?
Look at the aftermarket if you need new shocks. OEM are under damped and perform poorly.

Car has 110,179 miles. Bought it at 108.
Don't have a set budget because I don't know the cost of parts (first car). |

Looking into stock for now, don't really know too much about performance parts.

From the picture you posted you can clearly see that the body of the shock is wet with oil. This means that the shock is leaking and needs to be changed.

Are the only things I need, 2 front struts and 2 real shocks? Looked up Bilstein and it was $643.80 for a set of 4. Any other parts needed? Thanks! |
