suspension loading on XI

I read on here somewhere about loading the front suspension before you tighten the suspension bolts. If I measure from the bottom of the wheel well to the middle of the hub . . is it 17" loaded?

I just put a jack underneath the suspension and jack it up until the car comes off the jack stand. That way I know the suspension is, for the most part, fully weighted.
