Can I add Camber?
Hi, can I add negative camber all around when getting an alignment on factory sport suspension?

if that's what you mean, an alignment can change camber in the front one of two ways. If you have stock top hats, there is an alignment pin that can be removed. It prevents the strut from being shifted toward the engine, which would make camber more negative (it basically "locks" camber in). Once the pin is removed, an aligner can shift the top hat and strut toward the engine but only about -.2 change can be achieved. Other way is if you have camber plates up front and if they are adjustable plates. in the back, the arm that supports the spring has an eccentric bolt which can be rotated to adjust camber. I'm not sure what the limits are. In both cases, changing camber effects toe, so toe then has to be adjusted. In the rear I believe there are limits... that is if you go too far with camber you may not be able to bring toe back into line....and toe eats tires. My rear camber is at -1.8 and I think I can go at least to -2.0 without any issues. |
