Motor Trend has just given the i8 a fantastic review calling it a "masterpiece". It seems to offer a lot - light weight, incrediblly unique looks, good quickness with that great concept of torque fill, fantastic fuel economy, the ability to go all electric for 20 miles and even a back seat. I am sure there will be many cars faster in a straight line but this one seems fast enough and so far those who have driven it are smitten. Absolute straight line speed isn't everything, it's more about the feel of the car in all driving situations. I think BMW is onto something here.

Can't help but feel that he is understating that it is missing something. Not such a great sports car but sort of a good for everything car. You can see how the tires don't hold the road so well when moderately pushed.
