Question about shipping...

I'm in a bit of an odd predicament. I may be shipping a bra and panty set from a boutique in Reading. So far so good. But has anyone dealt with shipping clothing to the US before? Will I have an issue with customs? I have the break down of what the items are made of which the US customs site seems to need but I've never had to go through this before, probably because the company never asked me. But this shop has never shipped to the US, or so they say. Anyways any help would be great. Thanks

I just realized I put this in the wrong section. Mods, please move this to the UK: OT section. Thanks

Just write on the waybill that it's repaired/reconditioned parts, that way your recipient shouldn't have to pay import duty.

Never tried it this way, but on shipping from the US to UK it is OK. The items I had shipped were marked gift (which I assume this is) and were under the radar in terms of value. I would imagine if its marked up OK you should be fine.

With the strength of the Pound against the Dollar, wouldn't you be far better off buying the goods in the US?

The supplier woud need to fill out a customs form and attach this to the parcel. These can be sourced (free) from the post office (or you can print your own if you want).

Ironically no.

The set I want is only available in black in the US and I want white, I was also quoted $250 + $10 special order fee since hardly anyone carries Chantal Thomass + shipping so I'd be looking at $270-280 just for underwear from a US store/boutique, kinda crazy.

The store in Reading is Pudding Lingerie, if anyone knows it. The quoted me 80pounds for the bra and panty + 15pounds for shipping w/insurance. That brings me in around $190 if I have my conversion correct? Which is a substantial savings from buying the same set in the US.

I think it's mainly to do with no one really carrying the Chantal Thomass brand, thus it is fairly marked up.

I work in Reading and I've never heard of them. There again I don't tend to frequent Lingerie shops in my lunch hour.

Why not? I just randomly found them on the net. They went above and beyond for me so I definitely recommend them for outstanding customer relations Anyone needing a nice present for the wifey/fiancee/gf/mistress/cross dressing bf should check them out.

Any package with a value over $100 is subject to import duty.
