New tie rods needed for second alingment?
Good Day,
After installing aftermarket springs and new tires i got some random shop to do my alignment...biggest mistake ever as they did a bad job and i need it re-done. They only did the front and my steering wheel is off. I contacted a BMW tuning shop and they said they can re-do the alignment however if the other shop heated the tie rods they will need to install new ones. The quote was around $550 for the entire job, tie rods and alignment which is ridiculous because i already paid $100 for the first alignment. Is this correct that i would require new tie rods? Thank You

Heated 'em, I don't know why. Hey, they're essentially threaded rods and unless suspension's so radical that rods need deformation, hard to see the point. What's the first shop say? Describe mod[s]. |

Tie Rod
Hey folks,
Dont know if mine is differant issue, but few weeks back I had a flat tire and so I had to change all tires as they were worn out (40K miles) on each tires. I already had alignment done before at Sears, and they dont handle Run flat so I went with a differant shop and got tires and mounted and while aligning the tech found that the Tie rod is missing a bolt in the back and is just welded to the front piece so I would neet to have a new tie rod both ineer and outer tie rod replaced as the earlier ones are of no use. this is for a e90 328xi 2007 driver side issue. I have noticed a clunking noise each time i go over a bump or pot hole not sure if this is the cause or im just day dreaming. I shall let you know when I change my tie rod probably post pics too. Good luck..
