Fault codes! Some help would be appreciated.
Hey guys,
I have a 2010 335xdrive M sport sedan with FBO, Alpina B3 flash and protune from Protuning freaks. I've been getting this codes a few times now and have cleared the codes. But still coming up. They are P2EEF and P2EE6. P2EEF - Electric fans, self-diagnosis P2EE6 - Coolant temperature sensor, measuring range of plausibility Any help would be great guys, and my coolant was running around 230F today if that makes any difference! (My car has 50k km on it) |

A guess:
P2EE6 is telling you your temp sensor is fubar. P2EEF is throwing because the fan can't run its check control routine without a signal from temp sensor. Has your aux fan been blowing? Anyway, check that temp sensor. The wire is known to chafe and otherwise go bad. |

Hey man, so I tried to turn my AC on MAX but the fan starts to kick in and then stops. It doesn't sound right that's for sure. I have a coolant sensor that will be here tommorow. Could it be a electric fan relay?

I think a relay would either work or not work. If you have a multimeter to read voltage, maybe you can test it out. Read voltage when relay is open (fan should work). if voltage is below optimal (12V) then it might be the relay.
You can also verify when the relay is supposed to be open. Measure voltage on the input side. Since you are getting the coolant sensor, might as well change it, and verify all cables leading to the sensor and the fans. Ive had codes thrown due to broken wires. |
