Order placed May 6th. Expected September, forgot my build week.
Currently concerned about SO on SO clashing, I don't think the leather is really a match for the metallic. For me all the essentials are standard which is a result, few options:- m4 DCT Black 19 wheels Reverse Camera Advanced Audio but likely to change to HK I'm coming from a 520D...what step, 1/4 tonne less weight and 120% power increase

PS steel roof option.
I know this gets sunroof but does anyone know is this gives the roof fixing points for roof bars, carbon obviously doesn't gave them.

So looks like the LED lights and HUD are popular.. anyone tempted by the Carbon Ceramic brakes? All the reviews so far seem to be based on test cars with these fitted, so wonder of the steel brakes are like previous M3 brakes or an improvement...

Also curious to know how many Uk folk with new M3/M4s on order are trading in or coming from an E9x M3 of some sort?

Great thread. Ordered M4 convertible late April. 1st RHD build slot worldwide (apparently) confirmed for w/c 6th August, expected delivery 10th Sept.
My main options were: Mineral Grey with Sakhir Red Merino Lthr 437m 19" black alloys M Specific HUD DCT box HK sound LED adaptive lights with HBA Comfort Access Surround View and Rear Camera Ext storage Convertible Comfort Pack (Air Collar etc) Active Security Pack Internet Speed limit display Service Pack Managed to get a 6% discount which was better than I was expecting as it had only just previewed at NY motorshow. I strongly considered ceramic brakes but cost was too prohibitive. The long wait begins!! |

I'm replacing my other halfs M135i with an M3. Ordered in Jan, should be getting it last week of June.
Spec is relatively basic as follows: Sakhir paint Silverstone extended leather Carbon fibre trim 19" silver wheels DCT HK Audio Adaptive lights Rear camera Sun protection glass Extended storage A word of caution to those ordering LED lights - I decided against these as I have them on my M6. Whilst they're a much whiter light than xenons (and even more so in comparison to Halogens), I'm not sure my M6's LED's even have the range of the xenons in our M135i so I definitely wasn't going to pay £1,600 for the option. Saying this, if I hadn't experienced them already then I'd probably go for them too, if only out of curiosity! What I would wholeheartedly recommend if budget allows (and seems to be backed up in the reviews) are the carbon brakes. I have these on the M6 and BMW have got their ceramic brake design bang-on for road use - sure, it could be deemed as overkill but the consistent feel and the confidence they give from the immense stopping power make them one the most enjoyable options I've ever spec'd. Also, the total absence of brake dust means the wheels always look clean. Sadly, they were out of budget for the M3 but if you're not so constrained, then I highly recommend them. |

Has anyone in the UK gone "5000 Confirmed for Production" or "5050 Chassis Number Allocated" yet?
You BW 23/24 chaps must be getting close!

Joking aside, a friend of mine has an E46 M3 with a sunroof and assures me that I'll regret not spec'ing one, especially with an all black interior. If I'm honest I would absolutely love one however I just can't bring myself to do it. For me the CF roof is part of the M3/M4 identity now + I like the fact that the contours from the power dome now follow through the CF roof and into the boot lid.

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...=982481&page=2 That said, SO will look absolutely stunning - If I were a bit braver and not going MG, SO would definitely be next on my list + It's dedicated M colour.
