[EU] M235i navigation choice?

I'm trying to configure a rather basic M235i, and considering no navigation (painful to have this sticking monitor with nothing interesting on it) or the Business Nav version. In both cases, you get the smaller screen than with the Professional version; my question is this:

- will the display like below (the camera view along with the PDC view) fit into the smaller screen, or does it require the full size of the Professional Nav?

You are trying to spec a cheap car but are adding reversing camera? Why? That bad at parking?

I would always go pro nav it's so much better, but didn't bother with a camera

Ha ha, good one

I'm driving a rather fully loaded xDrive 528i F10 as a long-distance cruiser; the M235i is mainly for my wife (hence reverse camera) and for me to play with a powerful, RWD, 6MT bimmer (more like my old good E46 330i)...

So, back to my question?

I drove one at the dealer that had the basic screen and backup camera. I know the direction markers were missing without pro nav (the lines that tell you where you will end up). I am not sure what else wasn't there but I was disappointed in it from what I had used before with nav.

Yes, you can still get the backup camera on the smaller screen.

When the car is new, the lines are automatically set at off. You just have to turn them on in the option field.

Of course - but my question was different:

- will the camera view along with PDC view fit the smaller screen?

Answer is, will the BMW configurator allow you to spec the camera without the pro Nav?

Yes it will. So your question is not an answer

Sorry missed the bit about the PDC being visible as well :-) I wasn't going to bother with the reversing camera until I tested one with it. It gives a great view of the area behind the car - from my experience I don't think you'd bother looking at the PDC as well and would probably rely on the camera and beeps instead.

You see, I got used to seeing both in my F10, and would like my wife to have the same level of reassurance in her (our ) M235i. And no, the rear view camera alone is not always sufficient; in fact it can be quite deceiving as it's a "fish-eye" camera - so when I hear the beep, I'd like to also *see* which direction it's coming from, as the source *might* not be clearly and obviously visible in the camera view...

But having given it another thought I guess I can answer my original question myself - the picture I posted shows the larger (Professional) monitor in the split-screen mode which most probably doesn't exist in the smaller version. Still, it'd be nice to know for sure from somebody who actually uses this configuration...
