Problem with 3M paint protection film
After months in storage after being freshly painted over the Winter, I finally installed my OEM M-Tech front bumper and had it wrapped in 3M paint protection film. However, only 10 days after the installation (and daily highway driving) I noticed a small rip in the film on the drivers side above the fog lamp. Now call me crazy, but I thought this stuff was supposed to prevent this type of damage. Is there anything I can do to fix this without having to re-wrap the entire bumper again? I received a warranty card from 3M the day of installation, however there is no information on there regarding this sort of problem.
Below is a shot of the damage that I can only assume was caused by a rock on the highway: Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated.

So, I basically spent all of this money to protect my bumper from rock chips by wrapping it in a high-quality protective film but it's still going to get noticeably chipped anyway?

I have the same wrap on my car and i have a few of those chips, i also noticed that it doesn't go all the way through to the paint because of the rubbery nature of the wrap. Don't know if yours is the same.

I've got a similar rock impact divot on the nose of my car. The film is there to protect the paint, and is (at least in my case) doing the job it was designed for.

Warranty only covers the film being defective, won't cover any sort of impact damage. You can try to heat it up a little bit and sometimes that will make it less noticeable. It's irritating, but better than that rock hitting your paint.

i thought i was crazy lol.. Joking. Thats going to happen. That would have been your bumper chipped if it wasnt for that film. It did its job and thats normal. i doubt they will fix that free of charge.
